A new act could help create more jobs in Central New York, and one company in particular would benefit from it.

The Support Procurement of our Nation's Stainless Steel Act requires the Department of Defense to use steel flatware made in America. That could give a big boost to business like Sherrill Manufacturing in Oneida County.

"We could see business double or triple,” said CEO and co-founder Greg Owens, "which means a bigger company that's more profitable. Allows us to keep raising our wages, keep expanding our benefits to employees and keep supporting our community, so it's very significant."

The bill passed the House of Representatives last week and is expected to be voted on in the Senate soon.
