It's Halloween week and, of course, there are always a lot of sweets to go with this holiday. Dr. Arash Ravanbakhsh from Inglewood Family Dental spoke with Spectrum News 1 to give his opinion about candy and how people can protect their teeth from sugar.

After eating candy:

  • Rinse your mouth out with water
  • Wait 30-40 minutes to brush your teeth
  • Avoid brushing right away because the candy increases acid in your mouth and brushing at that time could cause increased enamel erosion
