ALBANY, N.Y. – You’ve registered to vote in the state of New York. Now what? Here are important dates, and resources leading up to the November election.
Early voting in New York state begins Oct. 24 and lasts until Nov. 1. If you’re wanting to vote absentee, the last day to request a ballot by or online is Oct. 27.
The election is Nov. 3, and if you vote absentee, all of those ballots must be received by Nov. 10 to be counted.
Know You’re Rights
Both federal and state law prohibits any person from intimidating or attempting to intimidate any other person from voting, according to the state.
The New York Attorney General’s Office is asking voters to be vigilant during voting season. The AG says to be wary of any mailings, phone calls, and media of all forms that are trying to persuade you not to vote.
