Snowflakes fell across Western New York Friday, providing a white Christmas for much of the area.

Places like Hamburg experienced heavy winds from lake effect snowfall.

Further south down Route 5, the snowfall was picking up over in the Village of Farnham, where it was almost a white out. Plows were driving up, down, and all around to make sure the roads were safe.

"I mean, it's Buffalo. You grow up in it, but man I hate it. It's good for Christmas, but after that it." Toney Macio  said.

Others said they couldn't believe how fast the snow came down.

"I was in Lockport. There was green grass and I was just cruising not thinking about it. I look up after flipping a radio station and bam, people had their hazards on," Cory English said.

While some said they hate the weather, others said they beg to differ.

"I said I wanted to build a snow man like right now!" Karina Serrano said.
