DUNKIRK, N.Y. — Western New York was one of the regions hardest hit by the high winds that blew through the state on Tuesday.

Wind speeds reached 70 miles per hour in the Buffalo area. On Wednesday morning, National Grid was still reporting more than 19,000 customers without power in the region.
