BUFFALO, N.Y. — It has only been a few days since a racially-motivated attack forever changed the city of Buffalo.

There is still an active investigation taking place at the Tops supermarket where it happened on Jefferson Avenue.

Police say the gunman took the lives of 10 men and women because of the color of their skin. Three additional people who were shot that day survived.

There has been an outpouring of support for the community in the form of a presidential visit, monetary donations, food distribution and emotional support. However, no amount of charity will bring back the lives symbolized by the countless flowers left at memorials lining the street near the store.

Families are now preparing funeral and memorial services for their loved ones.
