Visiting Niagara Falls in the off-season? Prepare to pay a little to park more starting in 2018.
The city’s Common Council unanimously approved a proposed parking price increase Monday night, raising the price of off-season parking from $1 per hour to $2.
Residents and tourists alike will continue to pay $3 per hour for parking in the Cataract City during the peak season of May 1 through October 31.
Council member Andrew Touma initially proposed an increase to $5 per hour during the peak season but that was not enacted.
Residents are encouraged to buy a $25 downtown parking pass for next year now to avoid paying the increased fees.
