LACKAWANNA, N.Y. -- No one was injured in a fire Tuesday night that shut down part of Route 5 in Lackawanna temporarily.
Investigators say the fire broke out in a vacant part of a building that's connected to a Lackawanna gas station.
Crews say the pumps were never in danger of coming in contact with the flames.
"Fire was confined to the back area where the store and gas pumps are not located, so it was far enough away," said Lackawanna Fire Chief Ralph Galanti.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
