SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The 127th Assembly District race is now down to two candidates.
Mike Becallo suspended his campaign after losing in the Republican primary to Vince Giordano on September 13. He announced his decision at a news conference on Thursday, where he said he fully supports Giordano.
Republicans say their chance to win the seat is now much stronger.
"The Republican Party is going to be unified for the next 6 weeks to make sure that on November 8, we send Al Stirpe packing," said Tom Dadey, Onondaga County Republican Party Chairman.
Giordano will face Democrat Al Stirpe in November's election.
