TOWN OF TONAWANDA — An important Christmas scene came to life in the Town of Tonawanda on Sunday.

The Church of the Nativity invited guests to experience the Living Nativity outside the Colvin Boulevard church.

The depiction featured church members portraying the story of the birth of Jesus. It even included live goats and a camel.

The church has hosted living nativities over the last 31 years, and it's always a big draw.

"The real story wasn't like a Christmas card. The animals were not necessarily cooperating, the weather might have been difficult, they had to take a long journey, and so in many ways, it reminds us of what was closer probably to the reality," said Pastor Ruth Snyder of the Church of the Nativity.

The Church of the Nativity will hold two services on Christmas Eve. One at 7:30 PM and another at 11:00 PM.
