BUFFALO, N.Y. — Independent Bookstore Day is held on the last Saturday of April every year.

This year an event in Buffalo will highlight the city's independent bookstores and small food businesses, and will also support the chefs of West Side Bazaar.

The inaugural Read It & Eat Book Fair and Market event is also taking place on Saturday.

Book and gourmet food lovers will find more than 30 artisan food businesses and local book vendors at the event. It's taking place at Seneca One Tower on Seneca Street from 11 am. - 5 p.m.

Tickets to the Read It & Eat are now on sale for $5. Part proceeds of ticket sales will be donated to WEDI to help the West Side Bazaar chefs get back on their feet.
