BUFFALO, N.Y. — If you've ever wondered what the mansions on Delaware Avenue look like on the inside, now is your chance to check them out.
The Knox Mansion, now home to Cellino Law, is offering free tours of the historic building on weekends. The original building is about 28,000 square feet and has about 25 rooms to wander through. The mansion is over 100 years old and cost $600,000 which is about $13.4 million today.
It was the home to the Seymour H. Knox family, however, Knox died on the eve of construction. Since then it's been a private men's association, the home of CTG headquarters and was purchased in 2021 by Ross Cellino. His brother, Mike, runs the tours.
"The main purpose of this house is to provide the Buffalo community tours of this magnificent house and to give them some history of the family and Buffalo because the family is very prominent in Buffalo as you know. Not only was Seymour Knox institutional at the Albright Knox Gallery, but his sons, Seymour III and Northrup, brought the Sabres to Buffalo and owned the Sabres for many years," said Cellino.
Tours begin at 10 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. You can reserve your tour by clicking here.
