EDEN, N.Y. — A Western New York festival favorite is back this year with freshly picked ears of corn.
Expect some fun on the cob this weekend in Erie County as they celebrate 58 years of the Eden Corn Festival.
Organizers expect to go through around 60,000 ears of corn at one of the longest-running festivals in the area. Thousands of people come from across the region to sink their teeth into corn-infused treats.
From rides to games and more, there is a ton of fun packed into the four-day event, including a husking contest, cruise night and a new BBQ competition cook-off taking place Saturday and Sunday.
Organizers say the event has a huge economic impact on the town, bringing in about $300,000 over its four-day run, so they're grateful to have it back in full swing with the support of the community.
“It's phenomenal," said festival president Jeff Winter. "You know, it's nice to see all our little kiddies and everybody and people not with masks on and it's a very good feeling. You know, people are actually coming up thanking us like, 'oh my god, we missed you.' It's very, very warming to the heart.“
Admission to the festival is free. You can buy an all-you-can-ride wristband for $25 on Friday and $30 on Saturday and Sunday.
