EDEN, N.Y. — Corn lovers across Western New York are sinking their teeth into one of the region’s most popular summertime get-togethers.

The 57th annual Eden Corn Festival is underway. Gates opened Thursday and the fest runs through the weekend.

The event is making a comeback this year after being canceled in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

There is a wide range of activities to enjoy at the festival, much of them corn-themed. There’s also a large craft show, midway rides and a whole variety of food vendors.

Organizers say proceeds from the event go right back into the local community.

"There's about 20 organizations throughout the town that benefit from the Eden Corn Festival," said Jeff Winter, festival president. "Some of them are directly on the grounds and some of them run parking lots. Some of them assist with parking lots. And many of them are on the grounds they volunteer help. So, it's great. It's an economic impact to the town of about $300,000 to $400,000."

The festival wraps up Sunday at 9 p.m. For more information, including the daily schedule of activities, click here.
