Cannoli, ravioli, gelato and pizza, oh my!
Now that it’s been a few days since the Taste of Buffalo ended, it’s time to get ready for the Italian Heritage Festival, taking place Saturday and Sunday in Niagara Square.
With more than 60 food and dessert vendors, it’s sure to be a hit for the families and the famished eager to try new treats.
"Bring everybody down the family and everyone,” said Russell J. Salvatore, one of the event’s sponsors. “Let's pack this place out and have a good time."
Included in this year's festivities will be firework and music displays on Saturday at 10:00 p.m. and a cheese building contest Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
Officials encourage those attending to use ride-sharing services like Lyft and Uber.
This is the third location for the festival in recent years, after taking place on Hertel Avenue and the Outer Harbor, but the festival originated in Niagara Square nearly 100 years ago.
