MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Brewers have acquired right-handed pitcher Bryse Wilson from the Pittsburgh Pirates, the team announced Wednesday.
Senior Vice President and General Manager Matt Arnold said the acquisition was a cash exchange. Right-handed pitcher Trevor Kelley was designated for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster.
Wilson, 25, has appeared in 56 games with 43 starts in the Major League with Atlanta (2018-21) and Pittsburgh (2021-22). He made 25 appearances with the Pirates last season.
Selected by Atlanta in the fourth round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft, Wilson started and earned the win for the Braves over the Dodgers in Game 4 of the 2020 National League Championship Series.
On July 30, 2021, Wilson was traded by Atlanta to Pittsburgh in exchange for right-handed pitcher Richard Rodríguez. He was traded along with right-handed pitcher Ricky DeVito.
