UB Bulls football will return following the Mid-American Conference (MAC) announcement Friday that the fall football season will resume this year.

The MAC Council of Presidents voted unanimously to approve a six-game conference-only schedule.

The six-game season schedule will start Wednesday, November 7.

The plan is for the season to be concluded with a MAC Football Championship game in Detroit December 18 or 19.

A full schedule will be released at a later time.

MAC Commissioner Jon Steinbrecher made the announcement on August 8 that all fall sports would be postponded do to the pandemic.

UB would play the other five east teams and one cross-over game.

The NCAA announced earlier this week all teams will have the chance to earn a bowl game invitation, and a third postseason game could be in the Bulls' future.

"All of the guys are right now texting and we're in group chats, position group chats. Everybody's fired up for this moment and we really just can't wait to hit the ground running," said UB running back Jaret Patterson.

"This is what we've been doing our whole lives as athletes and to have it taken away at first was very disheartening. To have this opportunity to play again, I know none of us are going to be taking it for granted," said UB wide receiver Dominic Johnson.
