"5 a.m.’s, it starts with the 5 a.m.’s in the morning."

That's when Park's Noah Hutchins gets up each day to get to the gym.

"He is here with the lights on and a full sweat before 6:15 a.m.,” said Park head coach Rich Jacobs.

"Each day I would probably say a good four or five hours we get into the gym and just work on my game, work on my craft,” said Hutchins.

That's the dedication it takes to build the senior guard's resume: First Team All-State, Monsignor Martin Player of the Year, and a Three-Star recruit.

"I just love to win, I want to win every game I can,” said Hutchins.

Hutchins’ desire to succeed is rubbing off on his teammates, and it's showing in the record books: the Pioneers are currently getting ready for the Catholic state semis, have a 25-5 mark, and have won back-to-back league titles.

"He is just a tremendous leader on the basketball court and what he has done to continue to lead our team, but also take on more scoring responsibilities, is a tribute to the great player that he is,” said Jacobs.

With all that, Noah and the Pioneers have already achieved in their high school basketball careers, from winning last year's Class A Federations to earning the #1 ranking in Class A this season, their confidence is sky high as they continue this journey to repeat.

"When we play the best we can play, I think we're top in the state regardless of what class it is,” said Hutchins.

"We're definitely going to win states and federation; we're going to bring the championship back home,” said Ebuka Nnagbo, Park senior center.

That's Noah Hutchins on the court — what about off the court, say, in the classroom?

"GPA is in the 3.9, 4.0. That is the main thing first and then after that follows basketball,” said Huchins.

And how about in the community?

"He is a stronger, faithful — he is a greater person than he is player and he is a great player and that is what makes him who he is,” said Jacobs.

Hutchins’ future is bright on and off the hardwood, and that starts Saturday in the Catholic state semis.

Now beyond that, Noah doesn't know his college choice yet, but he does plan to take his official visits.
