The Sabres have bolstered their blue line before the trade deadline, as they acquire defenseman Brandon Montour from Anaheim in exchange for a 2019 1st round pick and defenseman Brendan Guhle, who has been playing in Rochester.

Montour, who is under contract for this and next season, 24-year-old right-handed shot who has five goals and 25 points in 62 games with the Ducks this year.

Guhle was called up to Buffalo a handful of times since he was drafted in 2015's 2nd round but wasn't able to catch on permanently. He had five assists in 23 games over three seasons.

When it comes to the first round pick, it won't be the Sabres pick, but either one of the picks acquired in trades with the Sharks and Blues. We won't know until the draft order is determined.
