BUFFALO, N.Y. (TWC NEWS VIDEO) — Championship Week in the Section VI boys basketball playoffs began with a bang at Buff State Monday night.
Jernard Jackson hit the go-ahead shot with seven seconds left to lift Lewiston-Porter to a 68-67 win over Starpoint in the Class A2 semifinal.
"Final 15 seconds I knew I just had to get the bucket," Jackson said. "That's all I knew. My coaches wanted me to shoot. It felt just like my idol Kobe Bryant -- clutch shot. It was awesome."
Jackson had 29 points, while Christian Nodine led the Spartans with 26 in defeat.
In the other semfinal, top-seeded Amherst pulled away from Maryvale 64-45 to advance to Saturday's final. T.C. Brown had a game-high 23 points, while St. Bonaventure commit Amadi Ikpeze added 21 for the Tigers.
