The Buffalo Sabres  have found their next bench boss.

The team made it official Wednesday morning, with Sabres General Manager Jason Botterill saying Krueger "has shown the ability to adapt to a variety of high-pressure environments while leading some of the world’s elite players. “His strong communication skills, leadership and diverse background make him a uniquely qualified candidate to lead our team going forward.”

TSN's Bob McKenzie tweeted Tuesday night that Ralph Krueger is set to be named the team's head coach.

Krueger has only coached 48 games in the NHL — his last stint being in Edmonton during the lockout-shortened 2012-13 season.

He was also the head coach of the Switzerland men's hockey team in the 2002, 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics, and led Team Europe to a surprising second-place finish in the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.
