While Sports Director/Executive Producer Tom Carroll mostly works behind the scenes, he occasionally anchors for TWC News Sports at :16 and :46 after the hour.
Tom, a first generation Irish-American, was raised in Brighton. Tom graduated from Aquinas Institute, Monroe Community College and Fredonia State University.
He worked at WXXI-TV from 1986-88 and spent time as a disc jockey at WGVA in Geneva.
Tom joined Time Warner Cable (then Greater Rochester Cablevision) in 1988 and became part of the TWC News Rochester staff in 1995. Tom has produced live sporting events including Rochester Americans and Rochester Red Wings games.
He has also produced local coverage of such golf tournaments as the Ryder Cup, PGA Championship and LPGA at Locust Hill. He is a member of the Rochester Press-Radio Club.
Tom, his wife Ellen and their two children live in Penfield
