A search of Narraguagus Bay for Alton Wallace, 51, of Milbridge, continued Monday.

Wallace did return from harvesting clams and was reported missing Sunday afternoon by a family member, according to the Department of Marine Resources.

Since around 3:15 p.m Sunday, searchers have been combing an area near Fickett Point at the mouth of the Narraguagus River, based on Wallace’s last cell phone ping received that morning.

Sunday’s search involved the Coast Guard, Maine Warden Service, Maine Forest Service and local fishermen, but was called off Sunday evening due to poor visibility.

The Coast Guard participated in the search Monday, but has since suspended its efforts “pending further developments,” according to the DMR.

Maine Marine Patrol and state police divers are continuing the search.
