BUFFALO, N.Y. — Three people are dead and two more are hospitalized after a two-car crash on Genesee Street near Kilhoffer Street in Buffalo Monday afternoon.

Police say two men and one woman were killed.

An 18-year-old from one of the cars was taken to ECMC with serious injuries.

A pedestrian who was hit by debris from the crash is also at ECMC with serious injuries.

Investigators are looking into whether one of the vehicles was speeding and if someone fled after the crash.

"There were reports at the scene that one individual was seen running way from one of the vehicles. Currently, our accident investigation unit is on scene doing an accident reconstruction, as well as canvassing for video and other evidence,” said Buffalo Police Captain Jeff Rinaldo.

Police are still investigating and asking if anyone has video of the incident or the black minivan involved to call them at 716-847-2255.
