Police in Niagara Falls are investigating after a double shooting early Saturday morning.

Investigators say two men are in serious but stable condition at the hospital after being shot multiple times.

According to the Niagara Falls Police Department, an officer was patrolling the area of Highland Avenue just before 3 a.m. when he heard several gunshots. Officers found more than 20 shell casings and one parked vehicle that was hit at the scene.

The victims were taken to a local hospital by separate private vehicles. Police later discovered that one of the vehicles had been hit gunfire multiple times.

Police say one of the victims is a 32-year-old man from Niagara Falls while the other appears to be from outside the city. Their names have not been released.

So far, there has been no word from police on any suspects in the case.
