A Buffalo man has now been accused of killing his ex-girlfriend, almost a month after her body was initially discovered.
Buffalo police say 24-year-old Charles Jones barricaded himself inside an apartment on Jefferson Avenue in Buffalo Friday. He eventually surrendered himself to the Buffalo SWAT team.
Jones was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of his ex-girlfriend, 25-year-old Jacquette Lee. Her body was found more than a month ago, in her Main Street apartment on July 18 after family members reported her missing.
After police arrested Jones Friday, officers then discovered the body of another female in the apartment.
Her body has yet to be identified and has been sent for an autopsy to determine cause of death. There's no word yet as to whether Jones is in any way connected to that death.
Jones is in jail without bail. If convicted, he faces a maximum of 25 years to life in prison.
A court date has not yet been scheduled.
