A Sloan man was arrested after allegedly posing as a teenage girl on Instagram and soliciting pornographic images of a 14-year-old boy.

  • U.S. attorney says it appears he victimized a number of minors
  • Anyone else who may have been victimized is asked to call 716-843-1616

Prosecutors say 33-year-old Steven Gasiorek was using the Instagram account "LEXIGURL1015" to contact the teen.

After executing a search warrant at Gasiorek's apartment, investigators determined that he had been engaged in this pattern of behavior for nearly a decade.

They say it appears that he victimized a substantial number of minors.

He was a substitute teacher and coached football, basketball and baseball at John F. Kennedy High School in Cheektowaga.

Investigators say students there could have been some of his victims.

U.S. Attorney James Kennedy says parents should monitor what their children are doing online.

"Hopefully avoid situations like this where they are communicating thinking that he's talking to a young female in California when he's talking in fact to a high school coach and teacher here in Western New York,” he said.

Gasiorek faces child pornography charges with a maximum of 20 years in prison.

Anyone who had contact with that Instagram account or has been victimized by Gasiorek in any other way is asked to call the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force at 716-843-1616.
