While some Democrats are doing soul searching and blame-gaming this week thanks to the results of last week’s elections, there’s one New York state elected official who’s saying “let me show you how it’s done."

State Sen. James Skoufis won his Orange County-area seat by 14%, a district that Vice President Kamala Harris at the top of the ticket lost.

After his victory, Skoufis posted a long thread about his political philosophy and asked fellow Democrats to join him.

The three-term Democratic incumbent and chairman of the state Senate Investigations and Government Ops Committee spoke with Capital Tonight host Susan Arbetter about his race, the 2024 election and what he hopes Democrats can learn from it.
