Conservative Republican Claudia Tenney is the projected winner in New York's 24th Congressional District. She beat Mario Fratto and George Phillips.
Tenney currently serves as the representative for the 22nd Congressional District.
"Really excited about this resounding victory in a district which is basically 12 counties ... 11 new to me," said Tenney. "So this is a wonderful opportunity for us to really show how New York is strong at agriculture. Everyone thinks of New York City, but they don't realize we are one of the biggest ag states in the nation."
After the redistricting process earlier this year, NY-24 now includes parts of Niagara, Orleans, Genesee, and Wyoming counties, stretching all the way to Watertown.
Tenney will face Democrat and Army veteran Steve Holden in the general election in November.
