The COVID-19 pandemic impacted every facet of our lives, including our mental health.

U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer visited the Madison County Mental Health Clinic Tuesday to announce that nearly $5 billion is being made available to address the issue.

Madison County’s Mental Health Task Force is one of many groups trying to meet the growing demand for services.

Last year, the county saw a 250% increase in mental health-related crisis calls.

Schumer said it's critical to acknowledge and address the lasting mental impact of the pandemic.

The funding is part of the American Rescue Plan.
