Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri will be keeping his office at City Hall for at least 4 more years.

Palmieri had two opponents in this year's mayoral race: Republican and former mayor Louis LaPolla and Linda Sullivan Fatata, who ran on the Fix Utica party line.

Palmieri won by a landslide with more than 70 percent of the votes.

"It was left in the voters' hands and you know what, I have so much faith in these great people and they proved how great the city is. They came out and they supported, what they feel, we're moving in the right direction," Palmieri said.

Palmieri says city residents can expect to see continued economic growth in the coming years.

He also promised to bring restoration to the city's neighborhoods.
