Gas prices this Memorial Day holiday are at their lowest level since the pandemic.

According to AAA, the national average is $3.18 cents a gallon.

New York's statewide average is a little lower at $3.13 a gallon.

Officials say the drop is due to lower oil prices and a drop in demand, with prices under $3 a gallon potentially coming later this summer.

A gallon of gas in Rochester ($3.11) and Albany ($3.09) is hovering around the $3.10 mark.

Syracuse ($3.06) and Buffalo ($3.07) are paying less than that.
