MAYVILLE, N.Y. — The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office has released new photos of Clarence Carte, who officials say is now the sole person of interest in the disappearance and subsequent murder of then 25-year-old Yolanda Bindics.
Bindics went missing in 2004 and her skeletal remains were found two years later in Boutwell Hill State Forest.
The newly released photos place Carte near Bindics' place of employment before she went missing.
Unsolved case investigators and family members are renewing their call for the public to come forward with any information as to where Carte might be.
"I might know where he is, OK, yes. But truly, it's speculation," said Chautauqua County Sheriff James Quattrone. "But right now, we want to move forward with the investigation and keep that going."
"We're constantly fighting for justice for Yolanda and with the new investigators on this team, we are confident that we are so close to having this solved," said Anne Chmielewski, Yolanda's sister.
