Friday marked Friends Inc.'s annual Jazz Night at the Dorothy Collier Community Center in Buffalo and Spectrum served as the sponsor for this year's event.
Spectrum also donated $5,000 to the organization to support its programming for kids and older adults.
Some of those include an after-school program, child care, meals, and daily activities for seniors, including a book club and an exercise group.
"I want to thank Charter and Spectrum for understanding that as a corporate entity that works high and low in our community that you sometimes need to give back,” said Crystal Peoples-Stokes, (D) Assembly majority leader. “By the way, not all corporations do that. So, let's just be mindful of that. I want to thank you very much because we appreciate it that you understand that it's valued to pour it into the people who pour into you on a regular basis."
Spectrum is the parent company of this news station.
