The Village of Hamburg is looking to address flooding along public streets and the flooding in residential basements.
This comes after several storms led to issues with both in just the past few months.
A study was done in response.
What was found was that for public roads, storms grates have openings that are too small to keep up with the large quantities of water. Also that some catch basins were too small and reached capacity too quickly.
The engineers who did the study recommended fixes to both issues along with checking all other sewer drainage systems for possible repairs.
Engineers recommended any houses that saw flooding or sewage backup to contact a professional for adjustments.
