The National Transportation Safety Board has released its preliminary report on the plane crash in Niagara County that killed a pilot last month.

The crash, which happened along near Niagara Scenic Parkway near Youngstown on July 20, was owned by "Skydive the Falls."

The pilot and sole occupant, Melanie Georger, 26, released skydivers shortly before.

NTSB officials say she had five uneventful flights that morning and this was the sixth.

The report also states that a witness saw the airplane descending rapidly with one wing toward the ground, with the other to the sky.

Much of the plane was engulfed in flames.

The wreckage is undergoing further examination.
