TEXAS — Missing college student Caleb Harris has been found deceased after a months-long search.
The Corpus Christi Police Department confirmed that the human remains found in a city wastewater lift station on June 24 belonged to Harris, as determined by forensic analysts from the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification.
The release from the police department stated that there were no clear indications of homicide, but the investigation is ongoing.
In the early morning hours of March 4, Texas A&M Corpus Christi student Harris vanished from his off-campus apartment. In the days and weeks after he vanished, CCPD meticulously searched hundreds of acres around his apartment complex.
Within days of Harris’s disappearance, a team was formed, including CCPD’s Criminal Investigation Division, Organized Crime Unit, the FBI, the United States Marshals Service and the Texas Rangers.
Over several months, the investigators executed digital search warrants, submitted 82 preservation requests and analyzed more than 1,500 gigabytes of data.
City workers conducting maintenance at the Perry Place wastewater lift station discovered remains inside a wastewater collection well on June 24 and notified the police department.
