NFTA officials say that the above-ground Metro Rail service will be shut down for construction from July 8 - 11 and July 20 - 29.
These closures will allow for upgrades to the track bed, catenary and electrical system, which are aimed at enhancing the safety and reliability of the Metro Rail system.
"This work is part of our overall plan for rail renewal and necessary in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our system," said James Morrell, director of public transit. "We appreciate the patience and understanding of our passengers during this temporary pause."
The NFTA will provide a shuttle service running every 20 minutes between Allen Medical Campus and Canalside Station. Transit employees will be on-site to assist passengers.
Riders are encouraged to allow extra time for travel.
