As part of the 2024 NHL Global Series, the Buffalo Sabres will play a handful of games in Europe next season.

The Sabres will finish training camp in Munich, Germany, where they will play an exhibition game against Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) club Red Bull Munich on Friday, Sept. 27, which will serve as the grand-opening for Red Bull Munich’s new venue, SAP Garden.

The Sabres will then take on the New Jersey Devils to begin the 2024-25 regular season by facing off in a pair of games in Prague, Czechia, at O2 Arena, Friday, Oct. 4 and Saturday, Oct. 5.

This will mark the Sabres' third European trip during the regular season. They played in Helsinki, Finland and Berlin, Germany in 2011 and in Stockholm, Sweden in 2019.

The 2024 NHL Global Series will serve as something of a homecoming for a number of Sabres players.

Forward JJ Peterka played 72 DEL games with Red Bull Munich during the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons, and fellow forward Lukas Rousek played 161 games over four seasons (2017-18 through 2020-21) with Prague-based Czech Extraliga club Sparta Praha.
