The City of Buffalo is getting ready to ring in the new year with its annual New Year's Eve ball drop and fireworks celebration.
The city announced the following road closures for the celebration from 4 p.m. Sunday until 2 a.m. Monday:
- E. Huron Street between Pearl and Ellicott streets
- Genesee Street between Huron and Ellicott streets
- Main and Washington streets between Mohawk and Chippewa streets
Also, Chippewa Street from Delaware Avenue to Pearl Street will be closed from 1 p.m. Sunday until 6 a.m. Monday.
The party gets underway at 10 p.m. New Year's Eve night near the city's Electric Tower.
"Parking is free and available at the nearby Mohawk Ramp and the Fernbach Ramp,” said Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown. “It is really a blessing to have such beautiful weather in the city of Buffalo."
