The investigation into the Nov. 22 vehicle crash that left two people dead on the Rainbow Bridge at the U.S.-Canada border crossing is continuing, the Niagara Falls Police Department announced Saturday.

The NFPD's crash management team has been investigating how a 2022 Bentley Flying Spur ended up crashing into a customs booth, causing an explosion.

Police say the vehicle's data recorder has been recovered, but appears to be "severely damaged" as a result of the crash.

This comes as police say they have been in communication with Bentley Motors, gathering documentation about prior recalls as well as general information about the data recorder.

Police say they will be subpoenaing Bentley for any personal information, documentation and records on this vehicle.

Authorities are still waiting on the medical examiners reports for the two who died in the crash, Kurt Villani and Monica Villani, both 53 of Grand Island.
