Luckily, it doesn't sound like we have any rain coming this weekend, which is perfect for the 59th annual Eden Corn Festival. You have three more days to enjoy it, including Friday.

Jeff Winters, president of the festival, says the first year it was a harvest festival, and for the second year it was officially a corn festival. Winters says he’s been to every single one.

“I’ve watched it grow from basically a parking to lot to now close to 40 acres,” Winters said. “It’s also the biggest fundraiser for a lot of our non-profits in the town. We have about 15 non-profits that benefit directly from the Eden Corn Festival.”

Winters says the Eden Fire Department cooks the corn and it’s their biggest fundraiser of the year. This year you’ll find rides, games, nightly entertainment and various events. Friday evening is the Run for the Corn, a 1.5-mile cross country race.

A new item being featured this year will be “Eden Corn Festival Cream Ale,” brewed special for the Eden Corn Festival by Hamburg Brewing Company. The beer, a 4.9% cream ale brewed with corn, will be available in the Legion Beer Barn and Beer Tent while supplies last.

Other favorites that will be back are: corn husking competition, garden tractor pull, cruise night, chainsaw sculpting demonstrations, baseball playoffs, kangaroo demonstrations, and amusement rides, as well as nightly music entertainment on the Tops entertainment stage and in the Legion beer barn.

The festival is located on Route 62 in the Town of Eden on the American Legion Post #880 grounds.
