BUFFALO, N.Y. — Hundreds of people flock to the Broadway Market in Buffalo in the days before Easter to stock up on necessities like meats, pastries and the famous butter lamb.

For the Adamczyk family, it is tradition to visit the market on Good Friday and dance to polka music.

“Well, my mother taught us when we were real little and we always had big parties so we just try to keep it going. I don’t know if it’s the correct way to do it,” said Kimberly Adamczyk, whose daughters, Brianna and Gabby, joined her on the dance floor.

“It’s so fun just to be able to feel free and dance,” said Brianna.

Kimberly said her mother brought her to Broadway Market for Easter as a child and holds the tradition close to her heart. Now she shares it with her kids.

“It’s nice to connect with her past and coming here and being with her family and it’s now something that I’m going to want to pass on, too,” said her daughter Gabby.

After some fun at the market, the family goes home to team up in the kitchen making homemade pierogi.
