ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Western New York taxpayers are demanding more community input into the building of the newly proposed $1.4 billion Buffalo Bills stadium in Orchard Park. According to reports, $850 million of that price tag is expected to be taxpayer funded.

Advocates are now calling for a stronger Community Benefits Agreements.

They gathered Thursday to call for more control over stadium-related decision making.

"We've already come to a point were folks are under NDAs, where they are no longer able to speak with us, we want to be able to be a part of this process,” community member Kathryn Franco said. “There needs to be a requirement in how this funding is coming out over this 30 years, that the public has participation in how that money is doled out."

Construction of the stadium is scheduled to begin next year. It is expected to open in 2026.
