If you're a thrill seeker but you're looking to save some cash, there’s an adventure a little closer to home.
Roller coasters, water rides, food and games are all part of the experience at Six Flags Darien Lake.
Thrill-seekers of all ages have been descending on Darien Lake for more than 60 years.
“Darien Lake actually started as a campground in 1964, with just a small watering hole,” said Six Flags Darien Lake public relations and marketing manager Jody Brege. “We added a water slide, then a few flat rides and in 1984, we put up the Viper.”
With the first roller coaster, the amusement park was born. Today, the park offers 60 attractions, a water park, a concert venue and accommodations.
“Families can come here and enjoy themselves, unplug,” said Brege.
Brege says the amusement park offers multi-day excitement.
“Last week we had a concert, people stayed with us, went to the concert, stayed the night, and the next day they played,” said Brege.
