BUFFALO, N.Y. — The heated debate over Buffalo's proposed redistricting maps is set to come to a head Tuesday.
The city's Common Council is set to vote on the maps at noon.
Council members postponed the vote for weeks following widespread protests and negative feedback from community members.
A Common Council meeting held last Tuesday to discuss agenda items, which included reapportionment, was overshadowed by members and supporters of Our City Action Buffalo, who gathered on the steps of city hall in continued opposition to what they described as geographical manipulation on the council’s part.
The council had until July 31 to revise the maps.
