BUFFALO, N.Y. — ​A big check to Big Big Table and students and staff at Medaille College handed over a check for $1,500 to the local organization.

Big Big Table is Buffalo’s first pay-as-you-can café that give those in need a place to grab a bite to eat, regardless if they have enough money.

The donation was all made possible thanks to a campus-wide bottle drive at Medaille. Nearly 9,000 bottles were collected and deposited. That bottle deposit money was then matched by two donors.

"What we do is feed people,” Heather McCarthy, community and operations manager at Big Big Table, said. “And if we don't have people we can't do what we're here to do. So, $1,500 from 'Say Yes' Medaille enables us to continue to give to the Buffalo community."

Officials at Big Big Table say this money will help make important kitchen upgrades and boost the pantry’s food supply.
