BUFFALO, N.Y. — Seniors at McKinley High School will return to in-person learning Tuesday for the first time since last month’s violent incident.
It‘s part of the Buffalo Public School district’s plan to try to bring students back safely. That includes school resource officers at arrival and dismissal, as well as periodically throughout the day provided by the city of Buffalo.
“Right now, the commitment goes through April,” Mayor Byron Brown said. “But we will continue to work with the school district to understand their needs and make sure not only McKinley, but all schools in the system that our students and our staff and parents feel safe and secure.”
Each grade will return in reverse order for one day of in-person learning this week.
Next week, each grade will get another day by itself before all students’ returns to the building full time on March 11.
