A new drive-thru COVID-19 testing site is now open at the Walden Galleria. The site is operated by Western New York-based Company KSL Diagnostics Inc.
The site will occupy a portion of Walden Galleria’s five-level parking deck located near Forever 21 and will offer COVID rapid antigen testing and both 30-minute and 24-hour COVID RT-PCR testing.
“With the omicron variant driving up the number of COVID cases in Buffalo and Erie County, we wanted to make testing safer and more convenient. Providing drive-through testing that allows patients to remain in their vehicles is the best way to achieve that goal,” said Kevin Lawson, president and CEO of KSL Diagnostics. “As we’ve seen throughout the COVID pandemic, it is wise to be flexible and continually assess the situation to determine the best course of action.”
This comes as new case totals and hospitalizations continue to trend down across WNY. A total of 440 people were admitted Wednesday with the virus, down 16 from the day before. Also, 62 people were in the ICU, nine people fewer than Tuesday. Ten more people have died with the virus.
The number of patients not vaccinated in hospitals remains roughly the same, at around 50%. New cases in the county are still declining, with less than 900 new cases reported Wednesday, not including at-home tests.
KSL’s new drive-through location at Walden Galleria will be open seven days a week, Sunday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
