BUFFALO, N.Y. — A motion filed by the city of Buffalo to dismiss a lawsuit concerning tickets from school zone speed cameras has been denied.
The petitioner, attorney Kevin Stocker, is asking for current outstanding tickets to be missed. He is also seeking refunds for drivers who have already pair for their tickets.
Stocker claims the state law creating the program was unconstitutional.
A state Supreme Court justice ruled the law is unconstitutional, but the court will schedule further proceedings to decide how the city managed the program and whether those refunds should be given.
The controversial cameras have been taken down.
